Sümela Monastery

Sümela Monastery is a historical building in the Black Sea Region of Turkey, located in the Maçka district of Trabzon and was built in about 386. This magnificent monastery stands in a lush green valley, almost as if glued to the steep cliffs, leaving its visitors in awe. The frescoes, religious stories and artistic details inside the monastery offer visitors a journey to prehistory. The mystical atmosphere and impressive architecture of Sumela offers visitors an experience of peace and wonder.
